In 2000, visiting East Timor just after the conflict, the eyes of the children were shining brilliantly, even though it was under the circumstances like the almost all the building were burned and destroyed and many stories of human cruelty were told. These children seemed a treasure of our future. So, I tried a photo workshop with the 100 children, bringing 100 instant cameras with me (this was the first of Wonder Eyes Project), at the capital Dili, eastern village Tutuala, the border southwest Suai. The photos they took for the first time were marvelous and made lots of people moved.
